Dear Parents

We are now in the second half of the term with many events, fixtures and functions to be held over the remainder of the term.

Our policy of not allowing pupils who show symptoms of colds and flu at school is paying dividends.  Winter assemblies in the past have been characterized by coughing, sneezing and snuffling with teachers walking around dishing out tissues for running noses.  The absenteeism was also very noticeable in the past especially when the whole school was together for assemblies.  At this morning’s assembly, there was not one cough, sneeze or snuffle heard and not one tissue given.  Further, we had almost a full complement of pupils, which means that teaching time is not being compromised. Parents continued understanding of our policy is greatly appreciated.

The traffic situation continues to affect everyone.  We hope that our new compulsory ending time for afternoon activities is helping some parents.

Our sports teams continue to play extremely well with some very good results.  I complemented all our players in assembly today, not only for the standard of their play, but also for their sportsmanship, behaviour, manners and incredible support of each other.

Congratulations go to Hailey Mataruse and Dylan Mataruse who have both qualified for the up coming Inaugural African Youth Development Gymnastics competition.
